| Note* | Matthias and Theresia Beck Kloesel were married in High Hill, Texas on July 31, 1871 with Reverend Francis Antley officiating. They bought 110 acres of land on December 9, 1882 from D. W. Jackson who had the year before bought it from John T. Holman. The northeast corner of this land was the southwest corner of the John Kloesel land. This was possibly the land on which Franz and Theresia Beck lived, and possibly Matthias and Theresia lived in the same house with Franz and Theresia Beck. The west side of the Anton Beck land bordered the east side of the John Kloesel land, the indication that relatives lived as close to each other as possible, for protection and comfort. Joe Kloesel, the son of Matthias and Theresia Beck Kloesel and the grandson of Franz and Theresia Beck was the same age as the son of Anton and Rosina Beck's son, Emil, a reason for the deep friendship. Theresia and Matthias Kloesel had six children, but only two were living in 1900, Joe and Anna. After the death of Matthias and the land sold to Frank Banse in 1905, Theresia lived with her son, Joe, In Beeville. Theresia was born in Moravia on July 8, 1844, died in Beeville, July 25, 1925 at the age of 81. Her body was shipped to Weimar, and until the funeral service her body was at the home of Anton Beck II. She is buried on the Matthias Kloesel family plot in St. Michael's Cemetery. Matthias Kloesel was born in Moravia on February 4, 1835. He came to the United States at the age of 32 in 1867 with his brother, John and family. He was one of the leaders of St. Michael's Church's beginning in 1889 when the parishioners donated their time in building the church. Matthias died July 4, 1901 at his home int he Sedan area. He is buried in his family plot in St. Michael's Cemetery. | |
