Note*Information taped biography by Mae Ebra, 1995, at age 95: I was born in Mississippi at home, on a farm, and I had 7 brothers and 4 sisters and we were a happy family. Our sweet parents were so good to us and we all enjoyed living on the farm. Dad raised cotton, corn and other things. He made the best corn syrup you ever ate. Dad had bee hives so we had plenty of honey to eat. Mother was a real good cook. No drinking liquor in the family and no smoking. Dad did chew tobacco and Mother dipped snuff. Dad was a justice of the peace and I remember he married couples for 50 cents a piece. I was the youngest child in the family. We had pigs, beef and a big orchard. We went to church on Sunday and brought friends home with us to eat Sunday dinner. Later we played the organ and sang songs. We all went to school and we had to walk a mile to school everyday. We lived 15 miles from Dossville, Mississippi. I learned to play the piano when I was 7 years old, by ear. I had a playhouse, dolls and a fluffy yellow kitten named Doodle. My brothers had dogs and went hunting and fishing. We had lots of good fish to eat. On Saturday, Mother and Dad would take the younger children to town, in a wagon, to buy groceries and other things we needed. I met Stanley when I was 14 years old. His boss would lend him a pony and buggy so we could go to square dances. WE eloped and Stanley's grandfather, William Perry Dorrill, was a preacher and he married us. The next day I called home and told Mother and Dad and they told us to come home. Stanley helped Dad on the farm and we lived with them two years. I have 2 sons and 2 daughters. I have grandchildren and many blessings. (Mae Ebra lived to be 101 years old.)

Note*They had 18 children, several of whom died in infancy. They moved to Southwestern Oklahoma (Blair and Mangum areas) and many of their children lived and died there. They may have made a claim to an Indian headright there, probably because of Mary's descendancy from Martha Leetla Riddell Horn who claimed one half or one quarter indian ancestry.
