Thomas Vincent Hoog, age 85, of Castroville, TX, passed away October 14, 2003 in Castroville. Thomas was born Jan. 22, 1918 in Castroville, TX, to the late Albert and Emma Schmitt Hoog. Tommy was a lifelong member of St. Louis Catholic Church, St. Louis Society, Quihi Gun Club, and The Carpenters Union Local #14. He was a gifted carpenter and did extensive work on the renovation of the historic St. Louis Catholic Church in 1972-73. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Francis Hoog and a sister, Sister Dorothy Hoog CDP. Tommy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Zonie Taylor Hoog of Castroville; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Bob Mangold; sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Elaine Hoog of Devine, and Ralph and Cheryl Hoog of Castroville; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert and Irene Hoog, Albert Hoog, and Raymond Hoog all of Castroville; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Jack Ulbrich of Hondo, Catherine “Kitty” Tondre, of San Antonio, and Joan Ann Hoog of Castroville; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home will be open for visitation on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will celebrated Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. The Rosary will be held on Friday, Oct. 17, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment will follow the rosary in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.
