Edwin August Raabe, went to be with our Lord on January 3, 2005. He was the oldest of 11 children born to Louise and William Raabe on August 21, 1923 in Weimar, Texas. He served 40 months in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He later earned his degree as a research chemist and was employed by Pearl Brewing Co. in this capacity, for 27 years. Prior to this he was employed by Alamo Iron Works for 11 years where he met and married his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Kahlan Raabe. During his 38 years of employment he didn't miss a day of work. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, brothers, Howard Raabe and wife Molly of Weimar, TX., David Raabe and wife Margaret of Weimar, TX., Paul Raabe of Victoria, TX., sisters, Faye Stech and husband Gilbert of Weimar, TX., Aline Caraway of Weimar, TX., Esther E. Harrison and husband Jimmy of May, TX. Visitation begins Wednesday, January 5, 2005 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Zizik-Kearns Riebe Saunders Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Zizik-Kearns with interment to follow at the Hermann Sons Cemetery.
